Last week I had the JOY of participating in the ‘Joy as defiance’ exhibition by Family 404 and No End Contemporary. The brief was to create an artwork in response to a child’s artwork — meet ‘Big Moth’!

Family 404 is an initiative by Nina Torr and Stephan Calitz that explores Ambiguous Loss – Grief for the Living. Their mission is to share memories, create art, and offer resources and financial relief for fragmented families, beginning with their own.
During the course of the exhibition, a series of workshops and talks will be hosted in order to establish further dialogue on the topic of Ambiguous Loss and Fragmentation and to use art as an avenue for dialogue, sharing of joy and as a means of positive defiance.
