It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my name in print!

This is a chapter I co-wrote with Avasha Rambiritch (PhD) and Pineteh Angu (I’ve included the editors’ summary of it in case you’re interested). It’s published in Unlocking the chains of knowledge: Understanding the challenges, remaking pedagogies and curriculum renewal, along with other fantastic chapters.

As the title suggests, the book deals with transformation in higher education, particularly in the contexts of South Africa and Zimbabwe. It not only investigates the challenges by offering solutions but also encourages us to ‘explore the limits of our diverse knowledge repertoires’ (Soudien, 2025:iv).

Embracing multilingualism in writing centres is one way of promoting inclusion in universities, and the positive side-effects of this could be vast. It remains a topic of great interest to me (I nearly did a PhD on it!).
Even though I don’t work in or near a writing centre at the moment, I still have the pleasure of working with a variety of multilingual writers (who may disagree with the title!).
